ANASTACIA IS WORKING ON HER 5TH STUDIO ALBUM
Written by Serena on 30 Jul 2010
"I'm Outta Love" himaker Anastacia has confirmed that she has began working on her 5th studio album, the followup to her last release "Heavy Rotation", where she will be ditching the RnB and returning to her old sound.

Anastacia admittedly went in a direction influenced by her record label, who she has now seperated from for reasons unknown as of yet. Shortly after its release she funded her own European tour without label support and revealed in interviews soon after that she felt the singles they chose didn't represent who she is as an artist, clarifying the album was a test drive for a direction they wanted her to go in, which she doesn't want to work with again.

Following this, many fans and followers were relieved when she announced she will be returning to her old "sprock" style, which was introduced on the critically acclaimed self-titled album back in 2004. It has sold more than 6 million albums to this day without US support, and contains a collection of powerful and emotive tracks, such as the classic "Left Outside Alone", which topped the charts in many different countries.

This month she confirmed the first song had been recorded and yet again claimed it will be reminiscent of her old style, so that her voice can, in her own words, "dance with the guitars". Her image has also been reinvented; She's ditched the short hair and started wearing her trademark glasses again, which she no longer needs due to having laser surgery in 2005, although she still owns a large number of them.

Her latest work is a collaboration with Russian artist Dima Bilan (winner of ESC 2008), it's a strong track entitled "Safety", which is a ballad about eternal love, and an upcoming single with Belgian star Natalia Druyts, who she'll be touring with next January in the Antwerp Sportpaleis, the duet is expected to be released in September ahead of the "Natalia Meets Anastacia" concert series. The song is called "Burning Star", which is said to be a moving and soulful number.

Along with upcoming performances in Portugal, Italy and Greece, her role as a judge on UK talent show Don't Stop Believing and a possible reality show of her own, she will be touring again in the UK for Here Come The Girls with Lulu and a new addition Heather Small, tickets will be going on sale in September. In between all this she is expected to work on the album in light of its 2011 release.

ANASTACIA: 5 MINUTES WITH A DIVA
Written by Serena on 28 Jul 2010 Read more...
The Don’t Stop Believing judge and singing sensation, 41, on her outrageous demands (for crisps), and diva strops (oh yes)…

What does ‘diva’ mean to you?
In the beginning it was about untouchable stars who had temper tantrums, then divas became respected women in the industry who didn’t compare to many others. I don’t get offended if someone calls me a diva. I’m a way more down-to-earth person than a diva. We all have diva moments, and if we say we haven’t – LIES!
